Commercial Pilot Licence

Diploma of Aviation (Commercial Pilot Licence – Aeroplane)

The CPL program is a full time course which runs for 50 weeks. You will hold an Australian Commercial Pilots Licence at the end of your course. Upon graduation, from the CPL program students will be prepared for the real world carrying with them the knowledge and skills required to excel in today’s exciting industry.

When you complete your training, you will be familiar with a number of different aircraft including the Cessna 152, Cessna 172 and Cessna 172RG.  Cessna aircraft are common within the General Aviation industry, and on type experience is always looked upon highly by a potential employer.

Course Structure: Phase I: Recreational Pilot Licence (RPL) 12 weeks
Phase II: Basic Navigation (PPL) 10 weeks
Phase III: Commercial Pilot Licence 24 weeks

Tuition fees include:

 

  • Group, pre-flight and post-flight briefs
  • 90 dual flying hours
  • 70 solo flying hours
  • 5 hours in simulator
  • All theory courses – Basic Aeronautical Knowledge, Private Pilots Licence, 7 Commercial Pilot subjects
  • Air services and landing charges
  • All text books and supplies
  • Initial issue of pilot uniform
  • Class 1 Medical
  • Aviation Security Identification Card
  • Civil Aviation Safety Authority exam fees
  • Approved Testing Officer flight test fees
  • CASA licence fees
  • Non-refundable enrolment fee of $250

 

Please note: Second and subsequent attempts for exams and flight tests, and any remedial flight training required are an additional student expense, charged at the aircraft and instructor rate per hour of the module or unit of testing.

 

Non-tuition fees are not included in the above. Please refer to www.immi.gov.au for student visa living cost estimates.

 

Air Gold Coast incurs additional costs and fees associated with its Federal Government approval to train overseas students and administration in the delivery of training to overseas students. Consequently, included in our course fees are overseas registration fees to cover these costs.

Our modern Syllabus has been carefully created by our CFI to ensure that students develop the necessary instrument flying techniques on our state of the art CASA approved IGATE simulator before applying them in flight. Students not only get a good foundation in instrument theory but an unrivalled standard in instrument flying.

 

The Gold Coast Airport is ideally placed to provide this type of training. There are two airports which have ILS approaches in the local area. There are also airports with VOR, NDB, and GPS/RNAV approaches that are all within a few minutes’ of flight time.

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be issued with Diploma of Aviation (Commercial Pilot Licence – Aeroplane) and AVI50408 Diploma of Aviation (Instrument Flgiht Operations).
